Library services
Bridgend County Borough’s library services, run by Awen Cultural Trust and Halo Leisure, are accessible, welcoming spaces with friendly, trained staff. Libraries offer a warm community space providing opportunities for lifelong learning through courses, workshops and books, a connection to the community through group activities and local and family history information, and the chance to meet people.
You’ll find branches in Aberkenfig, Bettws, Bridgend, Maesteg, Ogmore Vale, Pencoed, Pontycymmer, Porthcawl, Pyle and Sarn where people can borrow books, Cd’s and DVD’s and audio books, as well as using computers and accessing local reading groups. For people who cannot get to their local library there is also a mobile library and housebound service.
Mobile library
The mobile library is a free library service, visiting over 130 stopping points throughout Bridgend County Borough, once every three weeks. The accessible vehicle carries around 3,000 books with new books being regularly added to stock.
