Halo Leisure operates a number of leisure centres throughout Bridgend County Borough, providing activities and groups suitable for people of all ages.
Free Swim Initiative for over 60’s
As part of the Welsh Government’s Free Swim Initiative (FSI), over 60s can swim for free in any public sessions. Additionally, beginners can access free swimming lessons. If you’re looking for an alternative to conventional gym workouts and exercises, Bridgend Life Centre has facilities to suit people of all abilities.
Toning Suite
Enjoy a whole body workout without arduous effort in the Toning Suite. In relaxing spa-like surroundings, a 30 minute circuit offers a workout which exercises all the main muscle groups, but with power assisted equipment, so you work with the machines instead of against them.
You’ll get a stress free exercise session with this relaxing, low impact way to keep active. The equipment offers a form of exercise for everybody, irrespective of age, mobility, weight or fitness level and is suitable for people who are getting back into exercise after periods of inactivity, including those with health issues.

Aqua Fitness classes and Hydrogym
Aqua Fitness classes offer accessible sessions carried out in the pool. The water supports your joints as you work, making the exercises lower impact than workouts in the fitness studio.
The Hydrogym has exercise machines placed within the water which will help strengthen and tone muscles without the high impact stress on muscles and joints. Halo offers free access to the Hydrogym for over 60’s during public sessions.
