Communities First programmes
Bridgend’s Communities First offers free courses in a range of areas for people who live in Communities First postcode areas. Support is available to people who are unemployed or working less than 16 hours as part of the Bridgend Employment and Skills Project (BESP), which provides training to help people to become job-ready and to gain sustainable employment.
Some areas of training are:
- Confidence building;
- Communication skills;
- Customer Service;
- Creating or updating your CV;
- Writing cover letter and effective job applications;
- Interview skills and preparation;
- First steps in IT;
- Manual handling;
- Food Safety Level 2.
There are also tutors available to work with people on a 1-1 basis to help improve English and Maths skills.
