Forums and groups

A forum or discussion/ action group can be a great place to meet new friends, find out about activities, socialise and discuss issues that matter to you as an older person living in Bridgend County Borough.

Below are some local groups who meet regularly:

Bridgend SHOUT older person’s forum

Bridgend SHOUT forum works with Age Cymru, local government, health providers and other organisations to participate in consultations relating to the Bridgend area, Western Bay Health Board area and on national issues if they affect over 50s. Board members represent SHOUT and Bridgend over 50s on a number of working groups at a local and national level with information fed back to members at monthly meetings and through the Facebook page ‘SHOUT Bridgend County’ and twitter page @SHOUTBridgend.

PACT meetings with South Wales Police

Partnerships and Communities Together (PACT) meetings are intended to give you an opportunity to highlight the community issues that are having an impact on your quality of life and to assist in deciding which issues are dealt with as priorities. It is not a surgery to discuss individual issues or concerns. Your neighbourhood policing team hold PACT surgeries separately. The meetings also give you the opportunity to get to know your local officer.

Visit http://www.south-wales.police.uk/en/neighbourhoods/ to find details of your local PACT meetings and issues affecting your neighbourhood.
